Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus. There are five of her siblings: two half-brothers, a half-sister and two younger siblings. She was named Miley by her family because she was an enormous source of hope for their future. Miley was nicknamed Smiley when she was a child, which she earned by being jovial. Her grandfather, a Democratic political figure, Ron Cyrus, was her paternal grandfather. Cyrus was the first student at Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. Her family moved out of Tennessee and into Toronto Canada in the year she turned eight years old, and Billy Ray Cyrus took on a part in Doc (2001) as a lead on the TV show. Cyrus made the decision to begin acting at that moment. For Doc (2001) in which she was a part of the family with her father. Additionally, she was cast in a tiny part in Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003). Cyrus was cast in 2005 to be the lead of the Disney TV series Hannah Montana, which is the story of a teenage girl who has an ambiguous life. The father of her character was back along with the show. The show was a huge success and tours sold out as well as hit record and merchandise deals followed. Cyrus was a teenage superstar. Cyrus began taking on various roles in the wake of her success in the film Hannah Montana (2006). This included roles as Ronnie Miller (in The Last Song in 2010) as well as Lola (in LOL (2012)) along with Demi Moor.
